Barangay Ginebra import Justin Brownlee expressed surprise but confidence after learning that longtime teammate LA Tenorio was appointed head coach of Magnolia.
Brownlee praised Tenorio’s recent performance in the PBA Philippine Cup playoffs, highlighting his continued impact as a player despite limited minutes in recent seasons.
He recalled Tenorio’s clutch Game 6 performance, where he scored 11 points, including a game-winning three-pointer, to help Ginebra extend the semifinals series.
Although Brownlee doubted Tenorio could handle both playing and coaching roles simultaneously, he remains optimistic about Tenorio’s success if he takes on that challenge.
Brownlee credited Tenorio’s natural leadership and mentorship as key strengths that will aid him in his new coaching career.
