Senator Bong Go praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for signing the E-Governance Act, which seeks to modernize government services through a unified digital platform.
Co-authored by Go, Republic Act No. 12254 mandates the creation of a Unified E-Governance Project Management Office under the DICT to oversee system integration across agencies.
The law aims to reduce red tape, improve public service accessibility, and boost online transactions for citizens.
It also calls for expanded public internet access, improved local government portals, and enhanced cybersecurity and digital literacy.
Go emphasized that while the law is a major step forward, sustained collaboration across all levels of government is needed for full implementation.
