BEWARE OF FAKE SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS! DEPED WARNS PUBLIC

The Department of Education (DepEd) has cautioned the public about fraudulent scholarship schemes circulating on social media.

These posts, featuring the DepEd seal and Vice President Sara Duterte’s photo, promise financial aid of P5,000 for elementary students, P7,000 for high schoolers, and P10,000 for college and vocational students.

However, they request students’ ID cards in exchange, prompting DepEd to warn against divulging personal information. DepEd emphasizes the importance of vigilance against misinformation and urges parents and guardians not to fall prey to these deceptive tactics.

Earlier, similar misleading posts offering cash allowances up to P5,000 for Grade 1 to Grade 6 students were also flagged by DepEd.

The public is encouraged to report such fraudulent activities to depedactioncenter@deped.gov.ph.
