The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has deferred the 2025 Seal of Good Local Government for Barangays (SGLGB) incentive program.
The program is being reprogrammed to align with the newly restructured performance framework for local government units (LGUs).
Barangay participation increased by five percent, from 39,623 in 2023 to 41,610 in 2024.
In 2024, a total of 3,283 barangays were recognized as national passers, with 663 earning the seal for two consecutive years.
The SGLGB, launched in 2023, is a performance-based program promoting transparency, accountability, and excellence in barangay governance.
