Gaming tycoon Atong Ang plans to file a complaint after being accused as the mastermind behind the disappearance and murder of over 100 cockfight enthusiasts, known as sabungeros.
Whistle-blower Julie Patidongan, a former security agency head, implicated Ang and actress Gretchen Barretto in the kidnappings, claiming the victims were killed and dumped in Taal Lake.
Patidongan alleged Ang ordered the killings of sabungeros caught cheating in cockfighting games, and even offered him P300 million to recant his statements, which he refused.
Authorities, including Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, are investigating a possible organized group behind the crimes, with police and officials potentially involved.
President Marcos has called for a thorough investigation, while the Department of Justice is reviewing testimonies to identify possible state witnesses.
