Ateneo de Manila University ranked highest among Philippine universities in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, placing in the 1,001-1,200 bracket.
The University of the Philippines followed in the 1,201-1,500 bracket.
Ateneo scored well in research quality and international outlook, while UP showed strengths in teaching and industry connections.
Four other Philippine universities, including De La Salle and University of Santo Tomas, also made the rankings but placed in the 1501+ bracket.
Globally, the University of Oxford retained its top spot for the tenth year, with MIT and Princeton following.
