Two individuals were killed in a shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University in Zamboanga City on Tuesday morning, August 18, the university confirmed.
Police Regional Office 9 said it received the shooting report at around 7:50 a.m. and immediately deployed personnel to the school premises.
Local media reported that nine other individuals were injured in the incident, although authorities have yet to release further details.
The Ateneo de Zamboanga Grade School and Junior High School said their students were safe and accounted for following the shooting.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, while reports claimed the suspected shooter livestreamed the incident and was seen carrying a long firearm and a pistol.
