Wheelchair thrower Cendy Asusano is set to make her Paralympic debut in the women’s javelin throw F54 event at the Stade de France on Saturday, where she vows to give her full effort.
Despite being considered a long shot, Asusano expressed her honor and determination to perform her best in the competition.
She qualified for the Paralympics by throwing 14.23 meters at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games and recently improved her personal best to 14.63 meters at the world para championships in Kobe.
Asusano hopes to exceed her previous best and reach 15 meters.
National para head coach Joel Deriada indicated there is no pressure on Asusano, and her performance will be evaluated against her personal best.
