The Anilao Windsurf Regatta returned to Mabini, Batangas, on March 22-23 after a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held at Saltitude Dive and Beach Resort, the event saw 51 participants competing in 20 races across 11 categories, ranging from young athletes to seniors.
The regatta provided a platform for both national windsurfing team members and grassroots competitors, with a focus on making windsurfing accessible to all ages.
Despite some wind challenges, the event proceeded with races for various categories, including the Wing Foil, a new windsurfing sport.
The regatta’s successful return highlighted the community’s strong commitment to windsurfing, and organizers expressed optimism for the sport’s continued growth in the Philippines.
