Former Bangsamoro chief minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim has declined his appointment to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) parliament, opting to step aside for new leadership.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently swore in new BTA members, emphasizing their role in upholding the peace process and ensuring the region’s progress.
Abdulrauf Abdul Macacua was named as the new BARMM chief minister, a move acknowledged by Ebrahim, who also congratulated his successor.
Macacua, a key figure in the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), praised Ebrahim for laying the foundation of Bangsamoro governance.
Marcos also led an Iftar celebration in solidarity with the Bangsamoro community during Ramadan.
