Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong challenged Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa to show the same courage he displayed during his unexpected Senate return in May 2025 as the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte approaches.
Adiong cited Dela Rosa’s past physical presence in the Senate as an example of commitment that lawmakers should uphold, especially in important proceedings.
He made the statement amid proposals allowing senators to participate in sessions, including the impeachment trial, through virtual or online means.
Adiong stressed that physical attendance ensures accountability and public trust in legislative work, particularly in high-stakes cases like impeachment.
He also noted that participation in Senate duties should not depend on convenience but on full responsibility to the public.
