Seven Philippine textile manufacturers are showcasing fabrics made from pineapple leaves, abaca, and other local materials at FashionPhilippines Milan from Sept. 22 to 24.
The exhibition, held during Milan Fashion Week, highlights Philippine textiles, technologies, and fashion collections for the global market.
Led by DOST-PTRI, the showcase aims to promote natural fiber-based textiles, natural dyes, and Piña Seda internationally.
Organizers said wider global demand could benefit Filipino farmers, weavers, and textile manufacturers.
The event also features collections from several Filipino designers as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s textile and fashion industries.
