Shipping giant 2GO Group Inc. has partnered with the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) to support the nationwide rollout of electric vehicles by installing EV chargers on its ships.
Two vessels, MV Masikap and MV Masinag, are now equipped to charge e-vehicles during transit, ensuring they’re road-ready upon arrival.
2GO plans to expand this initiative as demand for EVs rises, especially in major cities like Cebu and Davao.
EVAP President Edmund Araga praised the move as a vital step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting green mobility outside Metro Manila.
The partnership positions 2GO as a key logistics enabler in the country’s e-vehicle transition.
