Mariano Axel Nocom, 14, has established himself as the most accomplished Filipino karter in history after climbing to second overall in the Champions of the Future Academy (COTFA) series, one of the world’s leading karting development programs.
He is the only Filipino driver to compete across 4-stroke, 2-stroke, and high-performance electric BSR karts, and previously made history as the first Filipino to race an electric kart in Japan’s Tokyo EV Championships, where he finished on the podium.
Nocom also currently ranks third in Japan’s EV karting championship and stands out as the only non-Japanese resident competing in the series.
His racing career spans major international circuits in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where he has also represented the Philippines in the FIA Motorsport Games and won gold in the Asia Pacific Motorsport Games karting event in Sri Lanka.
Despite limited track time compared to international rivals due to financial constraints, Nocom continues to excel and also mentors young Filipino drivers to help develop the next generation of local motorsport talent.
