Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez led local officials in Eastern Visayas in signing a partnership with the National Authority for Child Care to strengthen adoption, foster care, and alternative childcare services across the region.
The agreement, signed with 13 local government units including Tacloban, Baybay, Calbayog, and several municipalities in Region 8, aims to improve support systems for abandoned, neglected, orphaned, and abused children.
Romualdez emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe and loving future for children, highlighting stronger coordination between LGUs and national agencies in child protection programs.
Officials said the initiative will enhance adoption processes, improve case management systems, and expand assistance for foster families and children in need.
The partnership now raises to 59 the total number of LGUs in Eastern Visayas collaborating with the NACC.
