Eleven aircraft valued at ₱4.7 billion are registered under companies linked to Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co, who has been abroad amid a flood control corruption scandal.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said Co appears to be the only suspect with such air assets, which are now under investigation by the Anti-Money Laundering Council, the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, and the Department of Justice.
The National Bureau of Investigation has requested a freeze order on Co’s assets, which are registered to his companies.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office reported that the 26 individuals involved in the scandal own vehicles worth ₱474.4 million, with some suspects surrendering luxury cars as part of the probe.
The government continues to gather and freeze assets of those linked to the alleged flood control project irregularities.
