Thousands of protesters gathered in Quezon City and Manila on Thursday, calling for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
The demonstration, organized by groups such as Magdalo and Akbayan, criticized the House of Representatives for failing to act on impeachment complaints and urged lawmakers to prioritize accountability over political interests.
Among the speakers, Akbayan Rep. Perci Cendaña and former Magdalo officer Eugene Louie Gonzales emphasized the urgency of the impeachment to hold Duterte accountable for alleged corruption, including the misuse of confidential funds.
The rally at the EDSA People Power Monument also focused on good governance and the need for transparency in leadership.
Meanwhile, another rally at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila called for Duterte’s impeachment and highlighted grievances with the Marcos administration’s policies.
