The camp of Vice President Sara Duterte said it is premature to conclude the disputed “BIR box” in the impeachment proceedings.
Defense spokesperson Michael Poa stressed that only the Senate, sitting as the Impeachment Court, has the authority to rule on pending motions.
He added that the defense has yet to respond to the prosecution’s motion formally and should be allowed to do so first.
The camp maintained that all procedural issues should be resolved through the proper legal process before any public conclusions are made.
