The United States government has prepositioned 137,000 food packs and 500 shelter kits for victims of the recent “doublet” earthquake in Davao Oriental.
US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson expressed sympathy and confirmed coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to assess further needs.
Messages of support have also come from other foreign missions, including Japan, Australia, China, and the European Union.
Japan announced it will provide emergency relief to earthquake victims in northern Cebu through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Their aid includes tents, blankets, water purifiers, and other essential supplies to help affected communities recover.
