Authorities arrested Jianxin “Tony” Yang, brother of former Duterte economic adviser Michael Yang, on July 9, 2025, at the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission facility in Pasay City.
He faces multiple charges, including falsification of public documents, perjury, and alias law violations, related to an extensive fraud network.
Yang, who operated under the alias Antonio Maestrado Lim, allegedly established at least 12 companies across several cities using falsified documents.
During a Senate inquiry last year, he admitted to using a fake birth certificate to run businesses in the Philippines despite being born in China.
Yang remains in police custody pending bail and will be transferred to the Bureau of Immigration for further proceedings.
