TIANGCO URGES COMPREHENSIVE OVERHAUL OF HOUSE OPERATIONS

Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco has called for a complete overhaul of the House leadership amid allegations of lawmakers, including Speaker Martin Romualdez, being involved in flood control project kickbacks.

Tiangco suggested that the speakership should go to Albee Benitez, an independent bloc member who did not support Romualdez.

Meanwhile, Rep. Francisco Barzaga left the House supermajority coalition and his party following rumors of a leadership change.

House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega dismissed the alleged ouster as hearsay, affirming the leadership’s stability.

Meanwhile, Akbayan party-list lawmakers filed a resolution seeking public disclosure of all House members’ Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs) to promote transparency and accountability.
