The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has commissioned Brain Trust Inc., a third-party evaluator, to assess the effectiveness of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and its collaboration with other anti-poverty programs.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian announced that this evaluation, set to be completed in October, will be the first time 4Ps are assessed by an independent entity.
The evaluation will focus on the program’s success in alleviating poverty and its relationship with initiatives like TUPAD and MAIP.
Gatchalian highlighted that the 4Ps program has had significant successes, including higher school enrollment rates, with millions of children completing education and passing licensure exams.
He also noted that nearly 90% of children from 4Ps households continue their education through senior high school, outpacing non-4Ps families.
