President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Marilyn Barua-Yap as the new ad interim chairperson of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
Her term, as stated in an appointment letter dated October 16, 2024, will run until February 2, 2029.
Barua-Yap replaces Karlo Alexei Nograles, who resigned to pursue a mayoral run in Davao City.
She is currently a lecturer at the University of the Philippines and an undersecretary at the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Barua-Yap was also the first woman to serve as secretary general of the House of Representatives in the 14th and 15th Congresses.
