Thailand has offered to support Philippine defense industries through enhanced partnerships and collaboration, the Department of National Defense (DND) announced on Sunday.
Defense Undersecretary Angelito de Leon discussed this with Adm. Adoong Pan-Inam, commander in chief of the Royal Thai Navy, during his visit to Manila last week.
De Leon outlined the Philippines’ comprehensive archipelagic defense concept, inviting Thailand to collaborate in building the country’s defense industry.
Adm. Adoong shared Thailand’s best practices in manufacturing ammunition, weapons, and naval assets.
Both countries, having ratified a memorandum of understanding in 2021, agreed to explore further cooperation in defense trade, joint research, and development projects, and to enhance navy-to-navy engagements.
