Tarlac Governor Susan Yap has voiced her support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call to Congress to disregard the impeachment filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Yap agreed with Marcos’ statement in December, arguing that the impeachment is politically divisive and would waste valuable time in the legislature, distracting from the nation’s economic recovery.
She emphasized that political instability could negatively affect the economy, especially during the recovery phase.
In addition to supporting Marcos, Yap also backed the upcoming “Rally for Peace” organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on January 13, hoping it would foster unity between the President and Vice President.
Yap urged for reconciliation, as political discord could harm national progress.
