Brittany Tamayo secured the girls’ 10-12 category title at the ICTSI Junior Mindanao Series I with a dramatic playoff win at Apo Golf and Country Club in Davao on Wednesday.
Despite losing her three-stroke lead and struggling with a triple-bogey on the 16th hole, Tamayo clinched victory by paring the 18th hole in the sudden death playoff, where her rival Kimberly Barroquillo three-putted.
Tamayo, who was relieved to secure her second career sudden death win, plans to work on her short game and stay focused for upcoming tournaments.
In the boys’ 10-12 category, Jared Saban triumphed with a 78, finishing 16 strokes ahead of Laurence Saban. Davelyn Dy took third place in the girls’ category with a total of 176.
