Suspended mayor Kevin Anarna of Silang has vowed to pursue all legal avenues to prove his innocence after the Office of the Ombudsman dismissed him from service and barred him from holding public office.
Anarna made the statement on Facebook, criticizing the timing of the Ombudsman’s decision, which came just before his scheduled return on October 23 after serving a six-month suspension for alleged irregularities in purchasing materials for the town’s fiesta celebration.
He expressed concerns about the fairness of the process, citing comments made by Vice Mayor Edward Carranza, who hinted that a negative decision from the Ombudsman would be forthcoming.
Anarna stated that such remarks undermine the integrity of the Ombudsman and asserted his commitment to fighting the decision, emphasizing his determination to seek justice for himself and the people of Silang.
“I will continue to fight… this is for truth, justice, and for the people of Silang,” he declared.
