SUPREME COURT NAMES NEW DEPUTY MARSHALS

The Supreme Court’s newly established Office of the Judiciary Marshals (OJM) has begun full operations with the appointment of three deputy marshals.

Retired Major General Joel Napoleon Coronel, retired Colonel Randy Remonte, and former NBI officer Eric Distor will serve as deputy marshals for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, respectively.

They took their oath before Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo during a ceremony at the Supreme Court Session Hall.

The marshals will be responsible for securing court premises, protecting witnesses, and ensuring the safe transport of accused individuals as directed by the courts.

They will support OJM Chief Marshal Manuel Gaerlan, who took office in March.
