Up to 1,329 Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) personnel are set to be deployed for President Marcos’ upcoming third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22.
They will focus on road clearing, sidewalk management, and traffic monitoring around the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City, which will be on lockdown starting July 19.
Additionally, the Philippine National Police (PNP) plans to deploy 22,000 personnel nationwide, implementing a gun ban effective on SONA day.
While no specific security threats have been identified, authorities are preparing contingencies, particularly along Commonwealth Avenue, pending rally permits from Quezon City.
