SINGER JULIE ANNE SAN JOSE RESPONDS TO CRITICISM ON CHURCH PERFORMANCE

Julie Anne San Jose and her talent agency have apologized after her performance of pop songs inside a church sparked online criticism.

Videos of her singing ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” and Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory” at the Nuestra Señora Del Pilar Shrine in Mindoro drew backlash for being inappropriate in a sacred space.

San Jose expressed regret, stating her intention was to support a benefit concert for the church, but acknowledged the offense caused.

Her agency, Sparkle, also apologized and took responsibility for coordination errors.

The parish priest and the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose issued public apologies, admitting mistakes in hosting the concert.
