Senator Risa Hontiveros urged the Senate to reject the citizenship application of Li Duan Wang, citing his alleged connections to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) activities and his questionable personal records.
During a Senate interpellation, Hontiveros presented evidence linking Wang to Duanren Wu, a Chinese fugitive wanted for human trafficking and POGO operations in Pampanga.
She also revealed Wang’s involvement with the 9 Dynasty junket group, which has ties to illegal POGO operations in Pasay and noted discrepancies in his citizenship application, including failure to disclose his connections.
Hontiveros further raised concerns over Wang’s use of multiple taxpayer identification numbers (TINs), which could result in legal charges if proven intentional.
She also questioned Wang’s affiliations with the Philippine Jinjiang Yuxi Association, allegedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party, raising doubts about his loyalty to the Philippines.
