The Senate panel on women, chaired by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, will investigate dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo’s connections to the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) Zun Yuan Technology Inc.
The upcoming hearing is scheduled for Tuesday and aims to include several individuals linked to the POGO hub as co-incorporators, including Jamielyn Santos Cruz and Thelma Barrogo Laranan.
Hontiveros stated that their testimonies could reveal the individuals behind the alleged crimes at the gaming facility, as they have already surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In a previous hearing, Guo claimed she would identify the “most guilty” parties involved in the POGO operations, although Hontiveros expressed dissatisfaction with the depth of her revelations.
Guo’s citizenship and alleged ties to espionage have also been scrutinized, although she has strongly denied these accusations.
