SEN. GO ADVOCATES FOR ENHANCED AID IN MALASAKIT CENTERS

Senator Bong Go called for the signing of a proposed Joint Administrative Order (JAO) to enhance medical assistance at Malasakit Centers during a recent Senate hearing.

The JAO involves key agencies like PhilHealth, PCSO, DOH, and DSWD, aiming to provide additional financial aid for disadvantaged patients.

Go emphasized that patients should not have to seek help from multiple agencies, as Malasakit Centers are designed to alleviate hospital costs.

Currently, 166 such centers assist over 15 million Filipinos but Go expressed frustration over the delays in finalizing the JAO.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian assured the Senate that the department supports the initiative and is expediting the legal review for a swift signing.
