A lawyer has filed an ethics complaint against Sen. JV Ejercito, accusing him of failing to act on a pending ethics case against former Senate President Chiz Escudero filed in October 2025.
The complaint, filed by Marvin Aceron, alleges that Ejercito did not issue a case number, acknowledge receipt, or provide updates on the status of the case involving a P30 million campaign donation to Escudero.
Aceron described Ejercito’s inaction over 109 days as “willful gross neglect of constitutional duty.”
Ejercito responded that the Ethics Committee has not yet been fully constituted and that pending cases will be addressed once the committee convenes and the session resumes.
Aceron argued that Ejercito should be held accountable to restore integrity to the Senate ethics process.
