House Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos voluntarily appeared before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Thursday, Dec. 4, requesting a closed-door session.
Marcos clarified to reporters that he was neither subpoenaed nor a subject of the investigation, but came forward to assist the commission.
He expressed willingness to provide any information he might have relevant to the inquiry.
His legal counsel noted that a private session was requested to protect critical details that could affect the commission’s investigation.
The appearance comes after former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co linked Marcos and the First Family to alleged flood control project anomalies, which the ICI deemed baseless.
