First Lady Liza Marcos on Monday led the distribution of free rice to 8,898 senior citizens in San Juan City under the “Mula sa Puso Para sa Pamilya” initiative.
Joined by Mayor Francis Zamora, Marcos oversaw the distribution of 10-kilo sacks of rice to 4,400 beneficiaries during the second wave of assistance at the FilOil Center.
The remaining beneficiaries are expected to receive their rice assistance within the week.
Funded through the Local Government Support Fund, the program provides qualified recipients with 10 kilos of rice monthly for four months, from May to November.
The initiative aims to provide food assistance to vulnerable sectors, including senior citizens and indigent families.
