Former Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez is facing a disbarment complaint over alleged breaches of confidentiality in his book, Kingmaker, which details his experiences during President Marcos’s 2022 campaign and early administration.
The complaint was filed by Jason Binay Suarez, nephew of former Vice President Jejomar Binay, who claims Rodriguez violated the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability.
Suarez argues that Rodriguez’s disclosures undermine public trust and were motivated by personal and political interests.
Rodriguez dismissed the complaint as a “desperate attempt” to silence him for speaking out against corruption, political persecution, and misuse of public funds under the Marcos administration.
The case highlights tensions between legal ethics and political controversies surrounding the current government.
