‘REWIND’ SMASHES DOMESTIC BOX OFFICE RECORDS

The film “Rewind” has become the highest-grossing film in the Philippines, surpassing the previous record set by “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” As of Wednesday, January 17, “Rewind” has earned P845 million worldwide in just 24 days.

The movie, which stars real-life couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, was part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2023.

It has exceeded the P838 million box office record set by “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in 2019. However, it’s important to note that “Hello, Love, Goodbye” was not shown during the MMFF and competed with foreign and other local films.

“Rewind” has earned P815 million in domestic gross earnings, excluding international sales, compared to P691 million for “Hello, Love, Goodbye” and P660 million for “The Hows of Us.”

The film is still being shown in the Philippines and abroad, and it is expected to surpass the P880 million worldwide gross of “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”

The success of “Rewind” highlights the strong support of moviegoers and the magic of films during the MMFF.
