REP. OLIVAREZ SET TO SWAP ROLES WITH MAYOR BROTHER

PARAÑAQUE 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez will swap positions with his younger brother, Mayor Eric Olivarez, in the upcoming midterm elections.

Edwin announced that he will run for mayor while Eric will run under the local Bagong Parañaque party and Lakas-CMD.

Edwin previously served as mayor from 2013 to 2022 and is currently the chairman of the House Committee on Government Enterprises and Privatization.

The Olivarez family’s political legacy includes their father, Dr. Pablo Olivarez, who was mayor from 1982 to 1985, and their sister, Eva, who serves as a barangay chairman.

Edwin’s running mate for mayor will be incumbent Vice Mayor Joan Villafuerte, and they plan to file their candidacies on October 7, 2024, focusing on a platform aimed at promoting business, education, good governance, and community welfare.
