Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla is set to take his oath today as the new interior secretary, according to his brother, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.
The elder Remulla indicated that the governor is likely withdrawing his candidacy for a political position.
He believes that Jonvic’s appointment could enhance the justice system by improving coordination between the justice and interior departments.
This synergy could lead to accelerated training for police officers and prosecutors, strengthening case build-up.
Jonvic Remulla will succeed Benhur Abalos, who resigned after filing his certificate of candidacy for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
