REELECTED TARLAC MAYOR RETURNS P8-M CONFIDENTIAL FUND

Reelected Capas Mayor Roseller “Boots” Rodriguez announced he will relinquish his P8-million confidential fund for 2026, choosing instead to allocate the money to programs for senior citizens and public school students.

He directed the local finance committee to remove the confidential fund from the mayor’s office budget and use it to increase assistance for the elderly and provide school supplies for children.

Rodriguez shared his decision during the municipal council’s inaugural session on July 8 and encouraged fellow officials to prioritize public welfare over personal benefits.

The mayor outlined education, health, and social welfare as key focus areas for his administration over the next three years.

Rodriguez first became mayor in 2022 and recently won reelection against several opponents.
