Apollo Quiboloy, the alleged sex offender and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, was rushed to the Rizal Medical Center on Sunday after being diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
BJMP spokesperson Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera stated that Quiboloy was initially evaluated at the facility and was later advised to transfer to a hospital with more advanced medical resources.
Quiboloy, who is facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge, is currently detained at the Pasig City Jail.
He is also charged under Republic Act 7610 for violating the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
Quiboloy was transferred to Pasig City Jail in November 2024 from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame.
