Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte is set to unveil a “newly redecorated” Chinatown in the Banawe area on January 29, 2025, coinciding with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The event aims to promote local tourism by offering a unique blend of history, culture, and modern attractions.
Activities will commence with a Dance Fit session, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Belmonte to launch the redesigned Chinatown officially.
The festivities will feature approximately 50 food and non-food businesses showcasing QC’s artisanal delights, a gallery displaying a wishing tree, a 360 Photo Booth, and predictions for the Year of the Wood-Snake.
The celebration will also include traditional dragon and lion dances, a street dance competition, and performances by artists such as Ice Seguerra, Kyle Echarri, and Jed Madela, and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display.
