The Quezon City government has issued a reminder to the public and candidates for the upcoming elections about responsible posting of political materials.
An existing ordinance mandates that all political propaganda must be displayed only in areas designated by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and prohibits postings on public utility structures like street signs and traffic lights.
Banners, tarpaulins, stickers, and other advertising materials are restricted from being placed on electric posts, trees, and government building walls.
Each barangay will have designated common poster areas, and the Comelec may approve additional locations such as plazas and barangay centers for campaign materials.
Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the importance of following regulations to maintain the city’s aesthetics and avoid littering.
