President Marcos has directed agencies to create a “conveyor belt of aid” to streamline and speed up relief efforts for areas hit by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
He ordered Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman to expedite fund releases to ensure resources reach affected communities quickly, with specific agencies tasked to lead relief in hard-hit regions.
Military and uniformed services were mobilized, with personnel and transport assets deployed for relief operations, especially in Bicol where conditions remain critical.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) also announced a P2 billion loan program for MSMEs affected by the storm, offering interest-free terms in the first year.
Meanwhile, a new tropical cyclone may approach Northern Luzon by early next week, prompting continued preparedness.
