In his Labor Day message, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. emphasized that the true wealth of the nation lies in its workers, who not only work for themselves but also uplift their families and the country.
He stated that government policies should reflect the belief that national wealth is measured by the honor of hardworking individuals, not just by financial income.
Marcos reiterated that workers are essential to progress and that the government is committed to supporting them out of both duty and gratitude.
He attended the 123rd Labor Day celebration, which included a job fair featuring 100 employers offering around 12,000 job opportunities, primarily in business process outsourcing, construction, and other sectors.
The celebration also highlighted free skills training programs offered by TESDA, while the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hosted 69 simultaneous job fairs nationwide.
