POLICE DISCOVER FIRING RANGE, UNDERGROUND TUNNEL IN POGO HUB

During a raid on a leisure resort owned by a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Barangay Señora, police inspectors discovered an underground tunnel and an indoor firing range.

The operation, led by Gov. Dennis Pineda and supported by local authorities, was initiated due to concerns over illegal POGO activities.

The resort, owned by Lucky South 99, lacked the necessary permits and continued construction illegally.

Two Filipino incorporators of Lucky South 99 were arrested during the raid.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) is recommending a gradual phaseout of POGOs to reduce gambling-related crimes and illegal operations.
