PHILIPPINES WINS 15 MEDALS AT ASIAN PENCAK SILAT CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Philippine national pencak silat team achieved notable success at the Asian Pencak Silat Championships in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, securing a total of 15 medals. 

Angielyn Viriña highlighted the team’s performance by winning the country’s only gold medal in the Tanding Female Class (Under 45 kgs) category. 

The team also earned five silver medals, with Stephen Suazo, Rogielyn Parado, Justine Mae Acat, and the duo Alfau Jan and Almohaidib Abad each claiming second place in their respective categories. 

In addition, the national team collected nine bronze medals, led by Harold Ralph Ungaya and Dines Dumaan, who each earned a bronze in their weight classes. 

Other bronze medalists included Mark James Lacao, Hannah Mae Ibutnande, and several team members in the seni regu categories.
