South Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa celebrated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Seoul and Manila, highlighting that the friendship between the two nations is stronger than ever.
During a media luncheon, Lee noted the cultural exchange, citing the influence of K-pop and Korean dramas, and praised shared interests in cosmetics and cuisine.
He also mentioned upcoming events like the Korean Film Festival and a seminar on Indo-Pacific security, reflecting the deepening ties between Korea and the Philippines.
In a gesture of goodwill, Lee recently led the distribution of cash gifts and scholarships to Filipino veterans of the Korean War and their families.
The sponsorship ceremony, held at the Philippine-Korea Friendship Center, also involved a lunch with Korean embassy officials and veterans’ associations.
