The Philippines is once again recognized as a leading tourist destination in Asia with multiple nominations at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
The country is defending its titles in key categories, including Asia’s Leading Beach, Dive, and Island Destinations, while Boracay, Intramuros, and Cebu also earned nominations in specialized categories.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco attributed these nominations to the efforts of the Department of Tourism and the support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to promote sustainable and inclusive tourism.
Voting for the awards began on April 1 and will continue until August 31, 2025, with the public encouraged to cast their votes.
Frasco emphasized that winning these awards would enhance the country’s tourism reputation and create more opportunities for local communities dependent on tourism.
